DVD

Exciting News!

 Whoo-hooo! We have a release date of June 2009 for the DVD! Last weekend I flew down to Louisiana (where the videographer is located) put some voice overs to the DVD and I fly back in May to give my approval on the final draft. I had hoped to have it out May but the videographer is taking a (much deserved) vacation for a month out of the country. I am so thrilled that this journey is near complete and excited to share this with you!

Those who pre-purchased the DVD will receive their DVDs first and as soon as possible after the release. After everyone has been shipped their DVD I will then begin selling the DVD once again to the public.

Update

I leave today for a five day trip to Monroe Louisiana to meet with Josh Smith (DVD videographer) to work on the DVD -- will come back with finalized release plans. Very excited! Thank you!

The DVD is in final production (yay) and I will have a release date within the next two weeks. Those who pre-purchased the DVD will be shipped their DVD's FIRST (in order of payment) and only after they have received their product will I begin shipping the Workshop DVDs.

Louisiana: Behind the Scenes

I just got back last night from filming the final parts of the upcoming DVD; down in beautiful (and hot) Louisiana. Photographed 10 more children; plenty of urban, countryside, and in a natural light loft .... just wait until you see.

Skye Hardwick, Photographer / Work of Heart Photography™ 

This DVD is being created to show you a behind the scene glimpse into what I do as a child photographer. I do not discuss such things as business, marketing, how to use your camera, or photoshop editing, but instead invite you into my colorful world to show you childhood through my lens, and my heart.

Both beautiful rural and trendy urban locations used; some you will recognize from the gallery on my website; but many settings are new to both you and I. You will see me tackling various sun situations as shoots were set up during different times of day. The models' clothing was styled by myself; most of it pre-purchased based on what I felt would go best with the scheduled shooting location. In the DVD I discuss why certain outfits were chosen and why they worked well for specific locations, etc.

Twenty children were photographed for the DVD. Ages of children photographed during the shoot were ages 2 - 8, which is the usual age range for my photography business, and the ages I most enjoy. All on location; all natural light.

See how I connect with children, watch and learn my techniques for drawing a child out and what I do to connect with my young subject. Perfect lighting and a stunning location are nothing without a subject who is open to being captured.

Other topics covered are, props (where to buy, etc), clothing choices, natural lighting at locations, my inspirations, where I purchase favorite shoot items, what makes a good location, and much more. If you cannot attend a workshop and have always wondered how I do what I do, this DVD is for you!

The estimated length of the DVD is (at minimum) 60 minutes of visual learning and stunning imagery; thanks to the collaboration of the videographer, Joshua Smith, of Cinematic Bride.

Shipping in the US is a flat rate of $5 which will be automatically added to your total. PA residents must pay sales tax. Happy to ship internationally for a fee of $15 for international priority. Must send money via paypal instead of using the paypal button above for international payments. 

Expected DVD release is late summer; updates will be on the blog. You will be shipped your DVD in order of purchase. Workshop attendees will be shipped DVD in a separate batch.

Prop Discussion

I get asked often where I get my prop ideas from, so there will be a special segment in the DVD in which I will discuss where I get my prop ideas from, where I buy, inspirations and so forth. Also discussed, what type of things catch my eye while I'm out "prop shopping". You will also see my various props throughout the DVD.
